Are we there yet -mentality is, in my opinion, quite acceptable in every situation.
Sh%&tf&%k! I've completely skipped your posts about the stroke and managed to read only few where you didn't mention it or didn't underline it that much. Until yesterday. As it's already old news so I guess I have to fast forward my own mental process about it and as the swearing is already done all is left is: imhorrified-omg-dontknowwhattosay-imsorry-imsureyouwillbounceandendupbetterthanever-howcanihelp.
Oh and one more: what the...?
Only to find that the "translator" had the same, if not worse, English skills than the therapist.
Unacceptable! But hoping the therapist nevertheless can help you.
Perhaps dancing is what you actually need to do right now. Dancing and speaking at the same time. And perhaps calculating too. There are studies of the benefits of listening music, dancing and doing simple math calculations during simple physical tasks. Although most of it is beneficial to people over 70, with any kind of dementia, I'm sure dancing still helps. If it doesn't help to grow faster new neural cells, it will lift your spirits and take your mind of the main thing that bugs you.
Anyway, never mind what I said at first, you will recover because you are so determined.
I've sent you (I hope it's you) a sort of a: I don't know how this helps but did it anyway -thingy, now we only have to hope that I will get tuberculosis, start coughing blood, go crazy, cut my ear off and die some horribly but really interesting way so the sort of a something thingy will be worth millions of euros and you can do what you bloody well want not thinking about money ever again. Or you can just look at it and think, serves me right, said I like it so this happened.
