Don't be scared my friend, you've just used the wrong cable, it's USF (universal serial film) cable you need. Go ask your local dealer if he has any USF lying around. Another one that could work, depending on your film is UFAC (universal film adapter cable).
After you've done filming, just plug the cable to the place it fits to the other end of the film roll. If it doesn't fit, you might just ask your dealer if they have any LSD (lead size downer) to correct the wrong size hole in the film roll. So easy peasy, that's all you need!
