Kehräsaari translated is spindle island. Nowadays it's a boutique centre. The old factory buildings were owned by H. Liljeroos (a very Swedish name abecause his own Finnish name wasn't good enough I guess) and used for spinning wool and cotton and coloring yarns and fabrics. Originally there was a needle factory.
