I have been trying for years to capture the milkyway at this location, everytime I am either battling cloud/haze/light pollution etc but after venturing out for some late night exercise it turned out to be one of the clearest nights I have ever seen in the U.K. The milkyway is still pretty low at the minute so still battling with light pollution but man, the seeing was insane! And no planes too. The only bad thing was you noticed more satelites but the blazing meteors made up for that. Anyways, about the shot, I did an 80 second exposure for the foreground and an 80 second exposure for the sky tracked with my Star Adventurer tracking mount, then blended them together in Photoshop CC. I used a Canon 6d which has been astro modded, Canon 16-35mkii f4 @16mm f4 using Kase neutral night filter for the light pollution, iso 1600. Hopefully the skies stay clear. Here is a cheeky added shot I took that night with my 50mm, 80 second exposure on the tracker, f3.5 iso 800
Clear skies
