Queen's Birthday Long Weekend ... How fortunate to be stuck in paradise with a mob of other campers.

I'm doing it again... sitting, observing and giggling about travellers antics. Here we are in a slice of paradise of Cape York Peninsula, also known as the Northern Peninsula Area (NPA), or Australia's most northern tip.

The sun has slowly risen and spreading its glorious warm rays across the pristine blue bay of Alau Beach in Umagico. Some people are enjoying their coffee on the beach while others are trying their hand at an early morning fish. Not that you catch anything on the outgoing tide.

One lady forgot to put her pants on (I think) and rushes to the toilet block, totally oblivious that 6 pairs of approving eyes, and 2 pairs of disapproving eyes follow her wobbly bottom all the way down the road until she disappears from sight. The same approving eyes ๐Ÿ‘€ display disappointment on her return as her G-string is securely in place.

No.... I didn't take a photo ๐Ÿ˜•

I did take a picture of this pamphlet...

Imagine how much money they'd make enforcing this on Bondi Beach ๐Ÿคฃ

A police car drove past later that afternoon but the show was already long over and lady G had left camp.

One guy, dressed only in bright pink floral boxer shorts (I kid you not) has been carefully cooking eggs and sausages. The glorious smell of which lingers through the campsite. He pokes his head into the caravan for a few seconds and a couple of community dogs ๐Ÿ• disappear proudly with his string of snags down towards the beach.

"Should've cut them sausages mate and those dogs would have gotten only one instead of all six."

Choice words before 8 a.m. echo across the bay. Serenity gone! One of the dogs is oblivious to the commotion and still licking his lips on my patch of camping turf.

There's one thing that seems like a really weird camp ritual (in my opinion), and it happens at every camping ground.

Here we are with the best view in the world, pristine blue bay, delightful warm sun ๐ŸŒž and a gentle breeze wafting through the trees. Now dirty washing is part of any travellers dilemma, but to us camper's delight there are washing machines in situ. You know the kind of machines that eats your coins faster than you can pop them in and generally your washing doesn't seem to be any cleaner, just fresher smelling which is possibly due to washing powder still clumped to your t-shirts.

Due to this absurd cost of washing we tend to avoid the dryers, so we do the next best thing. We hang it around our caravan!

Seriously!

It's a weekend getaway and there's washing on display!!!!

Why wouldn't ya hang it in your vision and block your glorious view. Why soak yourself in this absolutely stunning tropical world and immerse yourself into serenity when one can stare at their own washing billowing in the tropical breeze!

Surreal

Anyway, enough of my ramblings, enjoy a few more pics of my slice of paradise.

One of the many pristine un-named small islands where no-one lives.

Just absolutely beautiful coastline.

A very undersized rock cod (I think), thrown back to enjoy its freedom a bit longer.

Great fishing of The Tip.
