We’re kicking off our adventures in Modern mode, climbing the ranks and leveling up some of the cards we own - my progress in Splinterlands.
Hello everyone. After exploring the Frontier format so much, I admit I was getting curious about the other formats. Well, even though I still don't have the Invocation book, after asking a few questions and getting a couple of lessons and explanations, I decided to venture into the other format—the one I used to hate playing: Modern. So, today I’m going to share a bit about how that adventure has been going.

Luego de tanto explorar en el formato Frontier, admito que ya me picaba la curiosidad con respecto a los demás formatos y, bueno, a pesar de aún hasta la fecha no tener el libro de invocación, con varias preguntas y un par de clases y explicaciones, quise aventurarme en el otro formato que aún odia jugar y este era el moderno, por lo que hoy les compartiré un poco sobre cómo ha estado esta aventura.
To start with, the objective was obvious: win battles and level up. For this, I had to rely on the cards I already had—the foundational ones—or so I thought; curiously enough, I had received a few gift cards from a certain someone, so I took the opportunity to check them out. Among them were some of the cards we had already mentioned.
Para empezar, el objetivo era obvio: ganar batallas y subir de nivel, por lo que para esto tenía que confiar en las cartas que ya tenía, las cuales eran de fundación… o no, porque curiosamente había recibido algunas cartas de obsequio por parte de cierta personita, así que aproveché para revisarlas y ver qué tal eran, por lo que entre estas teníamos algunas de las que ya habíamos mencionado.
Among these are the Godsnot Sorceress card—a common Life-element scaling card with 13 mana, 3 shield, 7 health, 3 speed, and 5 ranged attack—and the Oshannus Unmade (Djinn) card, featuring 6 mana, 4 health, 3 speed, and 2 ranged attack.
Entre estas está la carta Godsnot Sorceress, la cual es una carta de escalación común de elemento vida con 13 de maná, 3 de escudo, 7 puntos de vida, 3 puntos de velocidad y 5 de ataque a distancia 5, y la carta Oshannus Unmade (Djinn) con 6 puntos de maná, 4 de vida, 3 puntos de velocidad y 2 puntos de ataque a distancia.
There are also cards such as Magnificent Mollusk (Tideborn)—a Death element unit with 13 mana, 2 shield, 6 health, 2 speed, and 6 ranged attack—and Stonebind Matron (Canisan), which has 8 mana, 4 health, 4 speed, 2 magic attack, and the Opportunity ability.
También están las cartas Magnificent Mollusk (Tideborn), la cual es escalación de elemento muerte con 13 puntos de maná, 2 de escudo, 6 de vida, 2 puntos de velocidad y 6 de ataque a distancia; la carta Stonebind Matron (Canisan) con 8 puntos de maná, 4 de vida, 4 de velocidad y 2 puntos de ataque mágico y tiene la habilidad Opportunity.
Along with a few other cards, we ventured to climb the ranks—even in battles where I felt sure I’d lose, given the impressive card skins and levels I was up against. Yet, by combining the cards I owned with the starter set, we managed to push our way up to Bronze II. There, we claimed our rewards, including our first "Merits" and a card with a unique feature—one I had, curiously enough, heard discussed weeks earlier in @Bulkathos's tavern.
Así como otras cartas más, por lo que, bueno, con estas nos aventuramos a subir de rango con algunas batallas donde sentía que perdería, ya que ver las skins de algunas cartas y los niveles fue asombroso, pero que usando las que tenía en conjunto con las fundaciones, nos pudimos hacer espacio hasta Bronce II, donde obtuvimos nuestras recompensas, entre estas nuestros primeros méritos y una carta con una particularidad de la que curiosamente había escuchado hablar semanas anteriores en la taberna de @Bulkathos.
Then there is the common neutral card known as Ironwing Juggernaut, which has a mana cost of 3 and stats of 3 shield, 3 health, 3 speed, and 2 melee attack; it possesses the "Weary" ability—causing it to become exhausted on certain turns—or what we call "the card that gets tired."
Y es la carta llamada Ironwing Juggernaut, de tío neutral común, que posee 3 puntos de maná, 3 de escudo, 3 puntos de vida, 3 de velocidad y 2 de ataque cuerpo a cuerpo, y esta posee la habilidad Weary, que hace que esté en ciertos turnos de manera exhausta, como la llamamos, "la carta que se cansa".
The thing is, we didn't stay in that tier; we moved on to other battles—using the card from earlier—and managed to stabilize in Bronze I. This time around, we earned energy and entry tickets, and—aside from a duplicate—we got another card that really caught my eye.
La cosa es que no nos quedamos en este rango, sino que seguimos con otras batallas, ya utilizando la carta anterior, y logramos estabilizarnos en Bronce I, donde en esta ocasión obtuvimos energía, entradas y, aparte de una carta ya repetida, de nuevo una que visualmente llamó mi atención.
Then there is the Palimpsest Prophet (Djinn) card—a common Life-element card with a mana cost of 3, 1 armor, 2 health, 2 speed, and 1 melee attack, featuring the Flying and Charge abilities. It really caught my eye—not so much for its design, but for the colors, which I feel make it stand out.
Y es la carta Palimpsest Prophet (Dijin), común de elemento vida, que tiene 3 puntos de maná, 1 de armadura, 2 de vida, 2 de velocidad y 1 de ataque cuero a cuero, y posee las habilidades Fliying y Charge, y se me hizo bastante llamativa, no tanto en el diseño, sino en los colores que siento hacen que resalte.
I am currently still at this rank, but I hope to reach Silver soon as I become more familiar with the format—since there are still many aspects I don't fully grasp. Nevertheless, I am getting into the rhythm of playing the Frontier format. So, without further ado—and hoping you enjoy this—thank you very much for reading.
Actualmente sigo en este rango y espero pronto llegar a Silver a medida de que me vaya familiarizando más con el formato, ya que tiene muchas cosas que aún no comprendo, pero sin embargo ya estoy agarrando el ritmo para poder llevarlo a cabo con el formato Frontier, por lo que, bueno, sin más que decir y esperando sea de su agrado, muchas gracias por leer.
