These past few days, she felt she had exerted herself more physically than she ever had in her other world. She was almost certain that such an arduous journey would be extremely costly, and she constantly checked to see if she was getting stronger and building any muscle. She remembered trying countless ways to achieve even a small, decent shape, but it was always impossible. In this world, however, she even felt she was beginning to develop more stamina than she had hoped for, and above all, she was impressed by her growing knowledge.
They had reached these lands a few days ago, and it was clear why Jolius and Ember had warned her it wouldn't be easy. They had encountered countless opponents along the way, and it had been pure torment for her. Even so, they managed to overcome them and continue on, though a small thorn was nagging at her. But she chose to ignore it, as she needed to focus on the Great Lowlands. The place was so peaceful that she felt a pang of loathing to be walking quietly and appreciating the scenery, but at the same time, she felt it was a clever move. The amount of training she felt was inhuman, and since she was the only human there, she felt she couldn't keep up with that elf named Culebro, who seemed to have no consideration and endlessly explained everything, overwhelming her brain.
Even so, she seemed to be understanding the elements better, with fire being her forte so far and, therefore, Jolius's undisputed pride, as he was quite adept at referencing his element. Even so, she didn't disappoint and gave it her all, and of course, even with Ember explaining ranged attacks and the restrictions learned in that training ground where she spent hours, they had greatly sharpened her battle analysis. Even so, for some reason, during the nightly practices where she usually stayed mostly alone, she would again feel that pang that distracted her to the point of making mistakes in some plays and consuming too much of her mana, which frustrated her.
One night, while trying to understand how to counter magic, that nagging feeling intensified, something even everyone present noticed. They went on guard, searching for the source of the threat they sensed. Just as Julius was about to launch an attack, footsteps sounded, approaching from that direction, and gradually, the figure of a tall man emerged. He had his hands raised as he said, "Relax, I am peaceful, I have good intentions." The girl's gaze swept over the mysterious figure; he wore curious clothing with his green cloak and glasses. Even so, he leaned on his weapon and what appeared to be scrolls in his bag.
She wanted to take a step forward, wanting to ask a question, but the elf stopped her, saying, "Wait, although he looks like one, this one is not human." The girl was astonished as Jolius placed a hand on her shoulder and proceeded to approach the man, asking him who he was and what he intended. After a brief laugh, he said: "Relax, there's no need to get upset. My name is Buns The Unseen, and I'm a small warrior who likes to explore and learn; it just struck me as odd that a well-known djinn was with ordinary warriors, especially a human." "I don't mean it in a bad way, I just thought I could join this unusual group."
At that moment, the girl understood the reason for his gaze and asked if he had been following them all this time. The man smiled and confirmed that he had, but only for one reason. The elf, somewhat annoyed, asked what he was doing, explaining that he wanted to join the group and if he was perhaps plotting to gain something. Adjusting his glasses and taking out one of his scrolls, he said clearly, "I'm also investigating those rifts, and I know some things that might interest you. But I can earn my place through training. I'm also good at combat, even better than the one you're training with—no offense, of course. But what do you decide?"
They all looked at each other, somewhat confused and surprised, and the girl asked, "Is it true that you know something about those rifts?" The man held the scroll up to her, saying she could check for herself. After looking at it, she replied, "Yes." That's right, welcome to the group…
Hello everyone, this is my third entry in the contest, suggested by @takeru255, and I'm continuing the story and once again merging it with
@culebro's story, which I admit I enjoy, as it's following a direct line of lore and development. So, well, that's all I have to say, and I hope you like it. Thank you very much for reading.
