Romany Days is a song I wrote when I was at school. I had a 12 string, and it sounded great on it. It's only a 2 chord song after all. The lyrics are influenced by the book "Return of the Native" by Thomas Hardy, which I studied for my A levels. I also liked the hollywood versions of Gypsies, very romantic and dashing men, women with dark hair and eyes, and extremely good looking. My friend Wilf Vickers came up with a really nice melody over the chords with a Violin, and that tune stuck with the song as the main riff. In this recording, Bjorn Dahlberg plays piano with one hand and Clarinet with the other....incredible! Anyhow, it turned out to be a damn fine tune, even if I do say so myself....
