Hive Open Mic Week 175 - 17 Agustus (Cover Song) by IndonesiaBersatu
Hello, my dear brothers and sisters. Greetings respect and blessings. Introducing, my name is Zein Grind from the Indonesia Bersatu band. Today, I will present a cover song entitled "17 August" created by Husein Mutahar or familiarly called Mutahar. This song is my participation for the weekly Hive OpenMic event which has entered its 175th week, with the theme Reflect Your Spirituality which was chosen by our friend
For me, spirituality is subjective. Spiritual reflection involves deep self-understanding and personal responses to complex life situations. Therefore, I performed a cover of the song 17 August with my version. This song is the song of independence as well as the national song of Indonesia. In my opinion, the spiritual reflection that I have is to achieve independence. Incidentally, tomorrow is Indonesia's 78th Independence Day.
For me, this song is an encouragement for the freedom fighters who have succeeded in expelling colonialism, colonialism and imperialism that were once present in Indonesia. Although this country is already independent, I feel that it is not. There are still many Indonesians who experience oppression, hunger and poverty. I feel that the Indonesian people are still being colonised by their people. Officials and the government still often commit corruption, collusion and nepotism that harm the Indonesian people.
With this 17 August song that I performed. I hope that true independence can be achieved by all Indonesian people along with justice and truth. The struggle is not over yet, and I will continue to sing and voice songs that lead to true independence. Independence without oppression, and without corruption that harms the people of Indonesia. I congratulate you on Indonesia's 78th Independence Day. May this nation be truly free? Below are the lyrics and translation;
Indonesian Lyrics
Tujuh belas Agustus tahun empat lima
Itulah hari kemerdekaan kita
Hari merdeka nusa dan bangsa
Hari lahirnya bangsa Indonesia
Merdeka
Sekali merdeka tetap merdeka
Selama hayat masih di kandung badan
Kita tetap setia tetap sedia
Mempertahankan Indonesia
Kita tetap setia tetap sedia
Membela negara kita
English Translated Lyrics
Seventeen August in the year four five
That is the day of our independence
The day of independence of the nation
The birthday of the Indonesian nation
Merdeka
Once independent remains independent
As long as life is still in the body
We remain loyal and ready
Defending Indonesia
We remain faithful and ready
Defending our country
Thank you so much for watching and listening to the song cover I presented today. I hope you all like it. In the process of making this music video, I made drum sounds with the RealDrum application on my Android phone. As usual, I played my electric bass and combined all the audio in Adobe Audition software. For the final stage, I used Adobe Premiere Pro software to produce the Audio Visual that you can see today. Thank you very much, greetings and blessings.
Below is the original version of 17 August which is one of Indonesia's National songs
