Miramar Trade Center [eng/esp]

Every week at home we have to dedicate a day, or usually an afternoon to be more specific, to shopping for the food and toiletries we will need for the week. To perform this task, which we almost always do as a family in order to help each other and enjoy time together, we visited the Miramar Business Center, located between 76th and 80th Streets on 3rd Avenue, in the municipality of Playa.
This store is close to our house, and brings together a variety of establishments of different nature, so you can find various items or enjoy different services in the same space.

Cada semana en casa tenemos que dedicar un día, o por lo general una tarde para ser más específicos, a hacer la compra de los productos alimenticios y de aseo que necesitaremos para la semana. Para realizar esta tarea, que casi siempre hacemos en familia con el objetivo de ayudarnos y disfrutar de tiempo juntos, visitamos el Centro de Negocios Miramar, ubicado entre las calles 76 y 80 en la avenida 3ra, en el municipio Playa.
Este comercio se encuentra cerca de nuestra casa, y aglutina una variedad de establecimientos de diversa naturaleza, por lo que permite encontrar varios artículos o disfrutar de distintos servicios en un mismo espacio.

In spite of the fact that emblematic hotels such as the Comodoro, Meliá Habana, Neptuno, Tritón, Memories Habana and Quinta Avenida are located in the surroundings of this building, and others with a very modern design are currently under construction, the architecture of the building is imposing and eye-catching for the visitor. It is impossible to pass by without taking a closer look.
The Business Center is composed of a total of six buildings, named after different cities: Havana, Jerusalem, Beijing, Barcelona, Santa Clara and Santiago. All the windows of the buildings that compose it have a blue green color, which is in line with its proximity to the beach area.

A pesar de que en los alrededores de este inmueble se encuentran ubicados hoteles emblemáticos de la ciudad tales como el Comodoro, Meliá Habana, Neptuno, Tritón, Memories Habana y Quinta Avenida; y actualmente existen otros con un diseño muy moderno en proceso de construcción, la arquitectura de la edificación resulta imponente y llamativa para el visitante. Es imposible pasar por su lado sin observarlo con detenimiento.
El Centro de Negocios está compuesto por un total de seis edificios, los cuales tienen nombre de diferentes ciudades: Habana, Jerusalén, Beijín, Barcelona, Santa Clara y Santiago. Todo el ventanal de los locales que lo componen tiene un color verde azul, lo que está en consonancia con la cercanía que posee del área de playa.

Around the buildings the vegetation is made up of tall palm plants, although in the interior area it is much more varied. The interior gardens are very well preserved and they highlight the abundance of greenery that offers a touch of freshness. The artificial planters have a circular shape and are made of ceramics that move between the colors carmelite and dark gray.

Alrededor de los edificios la vegetación está integrada por altas plantas de palma, aunque ya en el área interior esta es mucho más variada. Los jardines interiores están muy bien conservados y en ellos resalta la abundancia de verde que ofrece un toque de frescura. Las jardineras artificiales tienen forma circular y son de cerámica que se mueven entre los colores carmelita y gris oscuro.

The Center is integrated by restaurants; cafeterias; embassies; food, beverage, toiletries, perfume, clothing and jewelry stores; points of sale of different travel and commercial agencies, meeting rooms and other offices of various entities. It also has a subway parking lot with capacity for a large number of vehicles, although this is insufficient due to the large influx of people throughout the day, and parking is also used in the streets surrounding the buildings.
The corridors are wide and illuminated, making it very pleasant to walk through the various buildings.

El Centro está integrado por restaurantes; cafeterías; embajadas; tiendas de alimentos, bebidas, artículos de aseo, perfume, ropa y joyas; puntos de venta de diferentes agencias de viajes y comerciales, salón de reuniones y otras oficinas de diversas entidades. Tiene también un estacionamiento subterráneo con capacidad para gran cantidad de vehículos, aunque este resulta insuficiente por la gran afluencia de personas durante todo el día, y también se usa el parqueo de las calles que circundan los edificios.
Los pasillos son amplios e iluminados, por lo que resulta muy placentero poder pasear por las diversas edificaciones.

In this visit to the Business Center there was a change that caught my attention with respect to the previous visits I had already made. And I'm talking about, from my point of view, one of the distinctive elements of this place, which any city dweller quickly identifies: the metal elephants in the middle of the confrontation point of some of the buildings. Anyone who visits the place for the first time does not leave without taking a picture next to them, to immortalize the visit in some way.
Today these elephants are lying down, and not standing as I had always seen them. The way they are positioned, it seems that this is a new way of arranging them, although I don't particularly like the way they look. They don't seem to be walking, as they used to...

En esta visita al Centro de Negocios hubo un cambio que me llamó la atención con respecto a las visitas anteriores que ya había realizado. Y estoy hablando, desde mi punto de vista, de uno de los elementos distintivos de este lugar, que cualquier habitante de la ciudad identifica rápidamente: los elefantes de metal que se encuentra en el medio del punto de confrontación de algunos de los edificios. Cualquier persona que recorre el lugar por primera vez no sale sin tomarse una fotografía al lado de estos, para inmortalizar de alguna forma la visita.
Hoy estos elefantes están acostados, y no de pie como siempre los había visto. De la manera que están colocados parece que esa es una nueva forma de disponerlos, aunque en lo particular no me gusta cómo lucen. Así no parecen estar caminando, como antes…
