This photo is a little dark because it turns out that the ski valley is actually pretty tucked away, with the sun behind the mountains. But I think you can make out the creek flowing behind me, with the bridge spanning the remote section of it.
One thing about having a guest in town is that I finally made it up to Taos Ski Valley!
My friend snapped a photo of me and Magic. She had quite a time frolicking around. I couldn't tell if it was that she was just that excited about the new smells and sounds, or if she was just that cold. It was really darned cold up there!
We didn't stay long, but it was worth the trip to see things like these trolleys and snow mobiles.
Some neighbors were up their skiing for the day, but we missed them, so just came back down and had the most amazing burgers at a diner I like in town. Got to watch a little Sunday night football for the first time in probably 20 years! The Giants lost, I believe, but don't quote me on it. I only knew it was over when all the guys who had been hooting and hollering left.
Did you know that TSV is considered one of the top 10 ski resorts in the US?
Here's a professional photo of the resort taken from one of the ranking sites.
If you decide to make a trip of it at some point, let me know. I'll take you for a great burger after your day on the slopes.
