I got sad news last Tuesday that made me lose interest in going to the gym. Sadness stayed for over a day, but a friend cheered me up and advised me not to dwell. Come Thursday we both went to the gym. Indeed, after working out, my mood changes into something better. On the way home, I thought of going around first just to unwind. I invited her to check another friend’s aesthetic salon, the El Bonita.
We dropped by its new location and were amazed with its improved look and services! It used to be a small place, probably with an area of 50 square meters only, and focused on facial skin care only. For a while the owner also sold some branded bags and personalized skin care.
I was mesmerized to see how lovely the new place is. The whole salon’s theme was something like Japanese Sakura.
The reception/waiting area is now spacious enough, unlike years back when only 5 people could stay because the space was so small. The sofa has a cup holder whenever someone wants to have some drink while seated. At the edge of the mustard sofa, there is a side table where a Japanese woman figurine is displayed, and on top of it are the Certificates of Training attended by the owner. Fronting the 3 mustard sofas is the door which has on its side a unique gray corner sofa.
The counter was embellished and well-lighted, and they are already using a POS (Point-of-Sale) with screens facing the cashier and the client. Before, they just had a small glass container of candies then a brochure on top of the counter, and they were just listing the payments they received on a notebook.
Their sofas for foot care are so inviting!!! Just by looking at the seats, one would immediately want to sit, feel their soft cushion and be treated like a queen!!!
I moved further inside and saw that they now offer hair and nail care services. I loved how they arranged all the bottles of their nail polish on top of the wall.
I was openly allowed to check the whole place again and take photos because I was a regular customer when they were starting small. The staff called the owner, and the owner was excited to welcome me back! She is in Japan now, but she is coming back anytime next week, so that’s when my friend and I will start our transformation journey, hopefully!
What I really liked about this salon is the attitude of the owner and her staff. She is down-to-earth. She trained her staff well on how to handle customers. They are very accommodating and patient with the customers’ concerns. They make sure their customers are satisfied. Their prices are very reasonable too yet they still allow payment terms, depending on the convenience of the customer.
I am excited to try their new services, but more than that, it gives me so much bliss to see that a small business has grown into a competitive one! Surely, with good quality service, customers will keep coming back. Apart from the business growing, the income of the staff, who are minimum wage earners, will also improve because of incentives from the owner and tips from customers.
Isn’t that great???? I am just so happy for them!
