Hello, my friends, how are you? I hope you're having a good day, I started the day quite cold. Do you know why I start a game post like this? I'm fighting against the cold in the game I'm playing. I'm telling you about it to make you feel the atmosphere. I'm happy to see that many people in the comments say that I can convey the atmosphere to you. Today I'm here with the final episode of This War of Mine.
We woke up again under attack, which is normal for us in the last days. Fortunately, the war is almost over and we still have enough ammunition to defend ourselves.
The meat we find in the traps makes us feel like we hit the lottery haha. The thing I would least like to experience in the last days is food shortage.
There was a news on the radio that the vegetable shortage is over. International aid trucks entered the city full of radishes, beets and potatoes. This is excellent news.
My barter friend is here, there is nothing I need to barter too much at the moment. So I traded a few small things. I have everything I want in my shelter and I have upgraded it all.
At night I once again chose to stay at home, as I said in the previous chapters, there is nothing I can go out and get.
On day 42 we were attacked again, this time we spent 9 bullets, I wish my barter friend had brought more bullets with him. I could have bought them all. I have a fear that I won't last as the war goes on lol.
At least I saw a report on the radio that the weather will be warmer in the coming days, which means no need to spend on firewood.
I harvested the vegetables from the vegetable garden and started growing vegetables for the last time. I didn't know at the time that it would be the last time, of course lol.
I finished the day after making sure that everyone in the house was fed. There is not much to do when no one comes to visit and the weather is not cold.
When night came, I stayed at home again, why would I go out?
The night was quiet and we were not attacked after a long time. I would have loved to celebrate with some champagne haha. There were gunshots in the distance though, I hope they don't target us.
I also made a chair in the basement because I have a lot of material. I have a plant workshop there, so they can sit on this chair instead of standing there.
Do you remember the woman we always go and help? Her brother has come and is taking them out of this city, so they are moving. So she said she didn't need a gun anymore and brought me the shotgun she had. Good deeds are always returned. After she gave me the shotgun, she said I hope you don't need to use it, but you never know. She is right.
I made a chair right next to the radio, in case they wanted to listen to the music playing on the radio.
I thought about going out tonight but I found it pointless so I stayed at home XD
Day 44 started in an unsurprising way. We were attacked and used 10 bullets. Somebody help us! We're almost out of bullets.
There was a report on the radio that the peacekeepers were advancing towards the city. Peace is expected to be declared in the coming days. This is a long overdue decision! We are barely surviving, and I hope this war will end as soon as possible.
My barter friend arrived and fortunately he had water, food and firewood. He also brought bullets, but I only got 4, which is not even half of what I spent in one night. I hope he brings more next time.
Other than that, nothing happened during the day, we just listened to the songs Roman played.
At night I decided to go somewhere I had never been before, the Silent House. Why have I never been there? Because I have played this game a few times before and I know that an old husband and wife live there. I don't want to hurt them or steal from them.
How could I hurt these people? When I entered the house the man stood up and came to me and said they had nothing of value and they had sold it all. His wife is not moving and he says she is sick. I hope the war will end soon and these people will not be harmed.
Congratulations! Another day without being attacked. I think this will be the last day because there was a sign saying that the crime had stopped.
It was a very quiet day, nothing happened. There was no news on the radio and I just waited for the day to end.
And when the day was over, there was a scene saying that the war was over and then it said that I had survived. I was very happy that the war was finally over.
Then there was a cinematic showing the important events that happened throughout the game. I got really emotional watching it and the last sentence was very touching. The war is over but the survivors will never forget these days.
I'm sure some of you are wondering what happened to our characters after the war. Cveta continued to work as a headmistress after the war, with the fire of education still burning inside her. Bruno managed to find his best friend with whom he lost contact during the war and they continue to live together. Arica organized a symbolic funeral for her father and did her best not to be a parent like him. After the war, Roman returned to his friends and was happy to find that they did not judge him for his decisions. He became the head of a local unit.
