Tofino is located off British Columbia's west coast, on Vancouver Island in the tradition territory of the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation. It is home to UNESCO Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Region and Pacific Rim National Park. It is known for its white sandy beaches and huge surfing community. Canada's Hawaii!
We visited in winter, so too cold for us Australians to swim (the local surfers didn't think so though!). But we did a lot of hiking through the old growth forests and beach-combing instead.
