Wow, we've had quite a gap between posts!
If you've read my previous post you'll know that we left Hornby Island, BC on January 18. Since then we have been exploring the North of Vancouver Island visiting places such as Denman Island, Courtenay, Port McNeill, Port Hardy (pictured above) and Campbell River.

We have been pretty blessed with sunny weather over the last week or so, which is great considering how wet Coastal BC can be. However, over the last few days we have had a bit of snowfall and rain.
This morning we were treated to another sunny day so we decided to hike the Ripple Rock trail, an 8km hike through a coniferous forest. With all the snow melt it was quite wet and muddy in places but there are beautiful ocean viewpoints along the way, and once at the top you're treated to a stunning view of Seymour Narrows. During the cruise season it is especially fun to watch the giant cruise ships sail through The Narrows.

One of our favourite experiences so far has been a last minute fishing trip with North Island Fishing Adventures. We didn't catch much but it was so nice to be out on the water. We did catch one flounder (which we threw back), and 3 dungeness crabs (we kept 2). That night we feasted on juicy, sweet crab. Even I (Bree) enjoyed it and I don't usually like seafood.

Soon we will be moving on to explore the South of the island; Nanaimo, Victoria, Tofino, and surrounding areas. We are also considering visiting some of the outer islands.
We don't have a lot of reliable WiFi or phone data when we are outside the major townships but we will keep you updated when we can.
