It's been eighteen days since my previous entry and almost all the tomatoes have been harvested. As I've done with each entry to this garden journal, you can follow the link to the one before. These links lead back to the first entry, tying the entire journal together.

Though there's really only one Red Cherry Tomato plant remaining, we still have our herbs. Mint in the corner of the planter is spreading out.
Our basil has also seen booming growth since it came out of a tiny plastic pot and went in the ground. Some of the leaves aren't looking too healthy down near the bottom. I'm going to have to investigate.
Two more tomatoes are nearly ripe, and there won't be more than a handful after that. The one on the right, an Oregon Spring tomato, will be the last on that plant.
A few more Red Cherry Tomatoes are still green on the vine. Once they turn red, it'll be time to do some work on the planter and prep for next season.
Limes! I showed off a Key Lime Pie in one of those journal updates. Or was it a separate food post? I don't remember. Anyhoo...our lime tree won't quit! The next batch of fruit is already beginning to form on the end of the branches.

Our garden didn't produce as well as I had envisioned at the start. Nevertheless, our harvest wasn't a complete failure by any stretch of the imagination.
We got a few big Hybrid Zucchini before the leaf rot set in and the plants died off. Our tomatoes performed the best, though we lost half of our early harvest due to critters.
As our tomatoes ripened over the past two weeks, the harvest came slow.
Our tomatoes ripened faster once the first few came off but they never last long around our house. Knowing that they'd pull a disappearing act, I've been capturing pics as the days went by.
Bowling anyone? I had several tomato fights growing up but these ones weren't for throwing. We cut them in half and sprinkle in some salt for a quick treat. The Red Cherry Tomatoes just pop perfectly in your mouth.
We harvested tomatoes with more intensity and they built up for a little while. Build our own Pizza night came around and the tomatoes were gone again. Cheeseburgers used them up too!
Three Oregon Spring tomatoes were delicious going down and couldn't be more organic. Even the spray I used was an organic mix.
There's one final shot of red earthy goodness that came from the soil in our own backyard. It doesn't get much better for eating and for learning how to be a better gardener.
