important exercise for those who experience rheumatism
1. Water sports
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, recommending water sports can provide major improvements to rheumatic diseases. Swimming or aerobic water is said to be able to increase joint use and reduce rheumatic pain.
2. Taichi
Traditional Chinese martial arts that combine this slow and focused movement, can improve muscle function and reduce stiffness and rheumatic pain.
3. Cycling
Not only good for the heart, cycling also helps reduce the risk of rheumatism. Movement when pedaling a bicycle will train the joints by itself rather than regular aerobic exercise.
4. Yoga
Dr. Mario Siervo, director of medical operations staff at Leon Medical Centers, encourages rheumatic patients and all individuals to routinely do yoga to prevent and treat rheumatism. "Stretching can help rheumatic patients increase the flexibility of the body and joints, with movements in yoga," Siervo said.
Orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Philip Conwisar, also believes that stretching the body from yoga movements, especially in the arms, back, hips, thighs, and calves - where rheumatism is common - will reduce pain due to rheumatism and improve muscle function as well as joints.
