Ode to the Moon
I took a picture of the moon
In an attempt to capture its
Marvelous face.
I failed.
And then I laughed at how
I thought I could capture something
So beautiful.
How foolish.
To believe I could trap La Luna's luminescence
So it could brighten my day
Whenever I want.
So I could show off to others -
"Look at what I got" -
And wrongfully claim what can never be mine.
A delusion made in a moment of bliss.
But I've learned.
If I had captured it perfectly,
Who knows if I would ever look up again
To the glorious rock that reminds me:
I'm home.
