The much anticipated Blockchain Road Trip 1.0 (#BRT2019) has come and gone. It started on the 20th and ended on the 27th of September. The trip Started from Ladoke Akintola Univeristy of Technology (LAUTECH) in Ogbomoso then to Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Ile-ife and ended at Ondo State University of Science and Technology (OSUSTECH) in Ondo State. Three universities were covered with many speakers climbing the podiums to impact the numerous attendees which were mostly students of the institutions.
I couldn’t start the Trip with the team but I joined them when the train got to OAU. It was nice to meet @bookoons once again, we hugged and smiled then it was another hug party with
@anikys3reasure. I happened to meet with
@barineka and
@daniel-otaniel too.
@daniel-otaniel started with an opening speech and introduction of the speakers in attendance. The great
@amec started with his lecture on introduction to Blockchain and Cryptocurrency. I was enlightened by his well-detailed speech and total breakdown of the terms, kudos to Mister Amec-nation. Amec is an Aergo ambassador and he deserved the position because of his vast knowledge as displayed that day.
@bookoons came up to ask questions and give out branded Tees to the attendees who answered the questions properly. It was a shirt from one of the sponsors – Aeternity. It was later the turn of
@destinysaid, the founder of
@infiniteblocks and brand ambassador of
@paylottech. He discussed about money and the future of money. He took us back to the year where the price of dollars was tied to Gold and the present state. He further discussed what to expect if we adopt Blockchain Technology and cryptocurrency. Bookoons did more giveaway and James Jr. from Flashcoin came up to discuss Flashcoin with the attendees.
With his vast knowledge of Bitcoin and Blockchain, he explained everything in details. He made his session interactive and cracked some jokes to the surprise of most of the students. After his session, he gave out Flashcoin to those who downloaded the wallets on their phones, which was very generous of him. Emmanuel Jet, the winner of EKSU hackathon and a seasoned programmer, came up and spoke about Aeternity, Dacade and how they can earn AE tokens from their website. Barineka also spoke briefly about the Blockchain before @michaeljerry, a Dash Nigeria ambassador, spoke briefly on opportunities present on the Blockchain network. Bookoons rounded it off by giving out more Teeshirts and free tokens. The attendees were happy with the lectures, freebies and snacks given to them.
