Psalms 107:1-9

Say thank you to the Lord for being so good, for always being so loving and kind.
2 Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others he has saved you from your enemies.
3 He brought the exiles back from the farthest corners of the earth.
4 They were wandering homeless in the desert,
5 hungry and thirsty and faint.
6 "Lord, help!" they cried, and he did!
7 He led them straight to safety and a place to live.
8 Oh, that these men would praise the Lord for his loving-kindness, and for all of his wonderful deeds!
9 For he satisfies the thirsty soul and fills the hungry soul with good.

If by now we have not learnt to praise the Lord, it means there is something wrong. To help us, let us recollect all the things God has done for us. It was easy for David to praise God when he remembered God’s goodness to the Israelites.

This Psalms is an unsurpassed example of what a hymn should be, celebrating as it does the glory and grace of God, rehearsing who He is and what He has done, and relating us and our world to Him; all with a masterly economy of words and in a spirit of mingled joy and awe.

How long is your list? Take time to praise God for each blessings – spiritually, physically, socially, economically, academically, individually, societal, national and international; it goes on and on like that, count your blessings and name them one by one.
