Today's #waybackwednesday is going back a few decades. Millennials may recognize this song from the original Back to The Future movie where Marty McFly is playing with a band called The Starlighters at the Enchantment Under The Sea dance that took place in 1955. He mentioned that it was an "oldie" to the band members and to try to keep up, but this song wasn't released until 1958 by the one and only Chuck Berry.
The song is about a boy from Louisiana who "can't read or write" (illiterate) but he can play a mean guitar and would someday become a star. The guitar solos in this song are amazing and Berry's voice is timeless. After all, he was one of the first inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame back in 1986. I'm sure that with the release of Back to the Future in 1985, that helped things quite a bit as the song once again became infamous.
Here is a live version of Chuck Berry performing Johnny B. Goode for you to enjoy on this #waybackwednesday!
