Sono giunto all’ultimo di capitolo di questo viaggio in Scozia, ad Edimburgo e dintorni e voglio fare una piccola riflessione che mi pare dovuta avendo dedicato così tanti post a questo viaggio. La Scozia è da vivere almeno una volta nella vita, è la pura espressione della natura e di una civiltà che la rispetta profondamente, è uno dei paesi con le maggiori risorse idriche a parità di suolo, è l’acqua mai più di oggi si dimostra un bene tanto prezioso, è il paese che per primo ha annunciato il cambio di rotta confermandosi autosufficiente in campo di energie rinnovabili e il primo a portare il proprio paese entro il 2023 al 98% energie rinnovabili, un paese così moderno ma anche estremamente attaccato alla tradizione alla storia e alla cultura delle proprie origini, un posto magico dove possono coesistere realtà diverse in armonia, dove anche i ritmi però sono diversi e la vita sembra scorrere più lentamente e la si respira anche nell’aria.

I have reached the last chapter of this trip to Scotland, Edinburgh and its surroundings and I want to make a little reflection that I think is due to having dedicated so many posts to this trip.
Scotland is to be experienced at least once in a lifetime, it is the pure expression of nature and of a civilization that deeply respects it, it is one of the countries with the greatest water resources on the same soil, it is never more water than today such a precious commodity, it is the country that first announced the change of course, confirming itself as self-sufficient in the field of renewable energy and the first to bring its own country by 2023 to 98% renewable energy, a country so modern but also extremely attached to tradition to the history and culture of one's origins, a magical place where different realities can coexist in harmony, where even the rhythms are different and life seems to flow more slowly and you can breathe it even in the air.

L’ultimo giorno l’abbiamo dedicato alla visita al Royal Botanic Garden di Edimburgo, e vi assicuro è il giardino botanico più bello che abbia mai visto, è spettacolare, ha una vastità di specie vegetali ragguardevoli alcune delle quali non sapevo nemmeno che esistessero, se lo visiterete ne rimarrete sicuramente affascinanti.

The last day we dedicated it to visiting the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh, and I assure you it is the most beautiful botanic garden I have ever seen, it is spectacular, it has a vastness of remarkable plant species some of which I did not even know existed, if you visit it you will certainly remain fascinating.

Voglio condividere anche la mia colazione di quella mattina perchè è stata davvero golosa, e sapete come si dice: il buongiorno si vede dal mattino!

I also want to share my breakfast that morning because it was really greedy, and you know what they say: good morning starts in the morning!

All’ingresso del giardino vi faranno camminare su un tappetino contenente una sostanza schiumosa disinfettante che serve a sterilizzare la suola della vostra scarpa che altrimenti potrebbe introdurre batteri dannosi per alcuni degli ecosistemi vegetali che potrete trovare all’interno, il giardino è molto grande con una vastità di specie botaniche molto ampia.

At the entrance to the garden they will make you walk on a mat containing a foamy disinfectant substance that serves to sterilize the sole of your shoe that otherwise could introduce harmful bacteria for some of the plant ecosystems that you can find inside, the garden is very large with a very wide range of botanical species.

Per riprodurre i climi per poter conservare alcuni ecosistemi vegetali hanno sfruttato interessanti combinazioni di Serre arieggiate e non, riscaldate e non, e alcune anche umidificate ciò consente all’interno di questi grandi box di vetro dallo stile imperiale di ottenere le caratteristiche perfette per far crescere queste piante.

In order to reproduce the climates in order to conserve some plant ecosystems, they have exploited interesting combinations of ventilated and unventilated greenhouses, heated or not, and some even humidified.This allows inside these large imperial-style glass boxes to obtain the perfect characteristics for growing these plants.

Dietro a questa bellezza smisurata c’è un costante e sapiente lavoro di individui specializzati che sanno quali sostanze fornire ai diversi arbusti, come potare e fecondare alcune piante e come curare e mantenere vividi i colori di fiori pregiati e rari.

Behind this boundless beauty there is the constant and skilful work of specialized individuals who know what substances to supply to the different shrubs, how to prune and fertilize some plants and how to care for and keep vivid the colors of precious and rare flowers.
