And with a subtle hiss reality dissolves.
My head falls sideways as my eyes blink out. A constant dull ache radiates my skull, with each neuron firing individually, then all at once, destroying the aperture of time.
It shatters and falls, slipping softly down the windows in fine shimmers and broken cascades of light.
I blink.
Encased in steel the water rushes up and over me, and engulfs us, the fine skin of dirt being erased.
I raise my hand, and place it in yours, and instantly I begin to thaw. My mind rights itself, space time re-establishes consistency. The ache in my mind vanishes as fast as it took me. The foam rides the windows and falls softly to the ground, the world is visible again.
And I’m alive like I’ve never been.
