River EKU is the most reliable water source in PAKON KORE, those who visit it are exposed to deadlist diseases. The river EKU is brownish green, sluggishly flows past PAKON KORE to four other communities, carting cow dung and human waste. Exuding a repulsive stench that visitors will find disturbing but for the inhabitants, they are used to this because they have no other choice. They don’t mind as the women do their laundry and dishes in the river, beside, their children splash happily in the river. This also the same water they drink and use for domestic purpose, despite some level of knowledge of Urinary Schistosomiasis, poor attitude and practices that enhanced transmission of the disease were widespread. Thus, there is need to provide alternative to the stream in the community, if is to be kept away from potential source of infection and also, task force should be empowered to deliver on providing water and sanitation for all in the community.D8B58100-F9AB-4916-A2C6-9633BBB78020.jpeg
