Dear ladies of #Hive 馃挒 a pleasure to greet you, on this day I join to share my experience with the theme of this week, about the headache of many of us, our hormonal imbalance, every month, the so unique and intense Menstruation.
We women go through this hormonal imbalance every month, and although every body is different, there are some that are affected more than others, in fact, I know of women who do not mind at all, who live their menstrual days as if nothing, a normal day for them; however, as I said, not all of us are affected in the same way.
In my case, in the last few years it has been a real torture, every time I got my period, the pain in my belly was too intense, so much so that I would cry from the pain, I couldn't stand it, I would vomit, go to the bathroom, they had to inject me to calm it down, it was the only way to get through the pain, and feel better.
Although it wasn't always like that, I suffered from pain, but it was bearable, I would take my pill and it would go away, but afterwards it was as if I had become immune to the pills, and they no longer had any effect, so I had no choice but to inject myself; I remember when I used to work, in my different jobs, more than once I had to come home because I couldn't stand the pain, thank God my colleagues supported me, and well, I put compresses on myself, and drank tea, and only after a few hours, it went away.
I confess something馃槱, when I came for the first time, I remember I was at school, that is something that marked me forever, it was really traumatic, I stained everything, I think that's where my menstrual problems came from, since then I have had that discomfort, every time I came, I always ended up staining, either later in high school, even at the University, it was horrible.
When I started working, I suffered from these intense pains, it was then that I was diagnosed for the first time with cysts, where I was told that I had to have surgery, I did not know what to do, I did not want to do it, I remember that I went to therapy, and the therapist told me that I did not have to have surgery, but that I could heal internally, take natural remedies, and although I tried, I could not, and in the same way I ended up having surgery.
It was a very hard process, they do not anaesthetize you completely, I was conscious, listening to the doctor, and well I did not like it, not at all, but who likes to go through something like that, thank God, the recovery was fast, and in a few months I was fine, however, my discomfort continued, and after a few years, the strong pains returned, as I mentioned before, I cried, screamed, I felt that I was literally dying.
I went to the doctor again, where the diagnosis was different, a very big Mioma, where they talked to me about possibly having to remove everything, you can imagine how I felt, although I thought it was going to affect me more, but I think that inside me, it was something that I already imagined; So I started to make arrangements for the operation, trying to get the tests done and all that, but as a strange thing, we are in Venezuela, where the medical service is chaotic, the prices of tests, of private consultations, not to mention an operation in a clinic, that's why I was making the arrangements in a public hospital.
And when I thought it was possible, it turned out that it was not, I had to wait and postpone everything, as they say things happen for a reason, it was not for me at that time, so I stayed calm, I started to walk, do some yoga exercises, listen to meditation, and continue taking natural remedies.
I confess that since a few months ago, the pains have decreased in intensity; thank God, they haven't hit me so hard, they still hit me yes, but they are bearable, I can take a pill and it goes away, unfortunately, yes, I still depend on the pills, to calm them down, and well, recently I had some kind of a breakdown, I had more pain than normal, but this month was mild, I think haha... I'm still going through it 馃槅 I have to go back for an ultrasound, I know I have to go back for an ultrasound, I know I'm going to go back for an ultrasound, I know I'm going to go back for an ultrasound, I'm going to go back for an ultrasound, I know I'm going back for an ultrasound.
I have to go back for the echo, I know I still have it, because I feel that there, although sometimes I think it is smaller, but you never know, I still have to go, I confess that it scares me, to hear the same thing again, and where do I go, if here everything is a process, if you don't have insurance, you literally die, or you have to have enough money to pay for an operation in a private clinic, just thinking about all this, is what frustrates me.
But I also have to think about myself, although I no longer suffer so much from the pain, I suffer from other discomforts, and not to mention, the mood, those lows that I get, between apathy, mood swings, irritable, in short, not even I myself can stand it, imagine the others, what torture馃榿; so when I'm like this, I try to stay quiet, lie down for a while, watch a movie or series to distract me and think about other things.
I just think if it wasn't this year, well I'll have to move for next year, and if I have to take it all out, no way, I'm 37 years old, no partner, no children, in short, I only have myself, and I know I have to do my part, love myself and accept my loneliness, if I have to stay alone, with 7 cats, no lie, I don't like cats, dogs are better hahaha....
On the other hand, my mum is a survivor of Breast Cancer, so I can speak from her experience, it is a disease that happens when you least expect it, but if it is treated in time, you can get out of it, in my mother's case it was, she had a diagnosis in time, and by then the insurance covered everything, that was a great help; I am talking about more than 10 years ago of this, when things were simpler and more accessible.
Anyway, girls, this is the first time, that I open up completely on this subject, I hope to read you and give me your opinions, I leave this here as a reminder for me, to read it in a few years, and say, if I was able to overcome it, and move on.
