I want to use this medium to encourage everyone of us to appreciate the people who correct us when we are wrong. It might not really seem pleasant at the time but that is the only way we actually become better people.
It’s a natural human instinct to get a little defensive when someone points out our mistakes. That "sting" you feel is usually just your ego trying to protect itself. However, reframing correction as a gift rather than an attack is one of the fastest ways to level up in life.
Below are some importance of appreciating corrections
Efficiency: It saves you from repeating the same mistake for years.
Skill Mastery: Constant refinement is the difference between being "good" and being "elite."
The person who corrects you is often the only one brave enough to help you stop the "leak" in your professional or personal image.
Appreciating them encourages others to be honest with you in the future, ensuring you aren't the last to know when something is wrong.
You value truth over being "right."
You are humble and approachable.
You trust the other person’s intentions.
