The hubby had asked me a few times before if I wanted an egg (boiled, scrambled, poached, fried, etc) on my cereal oatmeal, and I always said no. That's a weird combo for me. I love eggs, but having them on my cereal? Nope, thank you.
This morning, however, when he prepared my bowl (which he sometimes does when he wakes up earlier than me), he cunningly topped it with a whole boiled egg. I would have nagged him about why he insisted on putting one in when I already told him I didn't want any, but I thanked him instead and quietly ate my food. And here's what's left of it, lol!
Also, I really like my oatmeal a little drier and chewy, but he makes it soupy (which to me is messy). We are both stubborn, no doubt about that. It's just one of the traits we share, probably why we are still compatible even when we have the weirdest of differences.
Anyway, we are back in DD and found that a portion of the property eroded during the heavy rain. The hubby is now directing the running water where the dump landed to wash it away; otherwise, we would have to do it manually.
It's not the first time. In fact, most of the edges stretching along the road have been chipped out by soil erosion, making them appear jagged. During the heavy rain in May, a huge dump of eroded soil landed on the narrow street below while we were away, and the neighbors had to clear it themselves so their vehicles could pass through.
We were quite embarrassed. While we have planted shrubs in most areas to help strengthen them, they were not enough. We understand we need to have retaining walls or rip-raps built around the whole place. However, there's a big but. The project could easily cost us hundreds of thousands to a million. We have to find a contractor!
Back to the egg in my bowl, I eventually ate it.馃榿 Maybe it's not weird at all to mix one on my cereal, lol!
