Woke up to a super cold and wet morning in BC. It's been raining throughout the night, which was a perfect lullaby to the soul. The hubby drove out early for DD, and our boy wasn't pleased to be bothered from his sleep; he gave me the tongue, lol!
Meanwhile, the yard is looking so green! The weeds have grown too, and I have yet to have the chance to clear them away as they are choking my plants and blocking the space for the Bermuda grass. Thankfully, my brother hasn't removed his galva yet, which helped prevent more weeds from taking over some more space, consequently saving me from cleaning more, lol!
And the Peruvian lilies (alstroemerias) are blooming, and more are sprouting beyond the bed intended for them.
Yep! Another job is waving right before my eyes, haha!
Anyway, Saturday was super busy for us with the husband attending a whole-day seminar down the valley, and I staying to take care of the new inventories and stuff at Dad's mart. Thought I'd observe how it is going. Little did I know that the day wouldn't be enough to get things done. Guess I've overestimated myself, lol!
The good thing? I've had my digital detox (stayed away from the online world all day), and yep, I'm learning some things too (e.g., customer service) as I help serve some. People here are mostly cheerful. Their energy and good vibes are quite infectious, which made me think we should be coming home here more often.
Staying mostly in DD, I have somehow forgotten what everyday life here in BC looks like until yesterday. What I observed wasn't all of it, of course.
But I will be spending a couple more days here, so it would be a great chance to reconnect, and the mart is the perfect space to do that, since people are coming and going. And rarely do they leave without saying something or joking, even. While I am not as chatty as my old man, I kinda like the subtle change of being able to have conversations with some, including those I don't know. That's a good thing to learn too, I guess.
