We were outside yesterday evening when out of the blue, a neighbor who calls the husband 'uncle' (I'm yet to hear him call me 'aunt') handed us about 10 of his harvested sweet corn (so generous), and I'm cooking 4 of them right now for our mid-morning snack😁
Look at those lovely yellow cobs! They are oozing with sweetness already, lol! Kidding aside, I'm just excited. Very soon, our lil abode is going to be filled with their aromatic scent.
He left after a short conversation, and we stayed out until half past six to enjoy the splashes of colors in the sky. It's been a while since the hubby and I sat there in quiet contemplation and gratitude of the universe's beauty, generosity, and abundance, which sometimes we forget to really appreciate.
It was drizzly most of the day, but it still ended magnificently, with a blue sky, white clouds, and golden rays on the horizon.
We came inside when the colors faded into darkness, reminding me it was time to give the LilGuy (who unfortunately didn't go out for a run or even a walk) a bath. He is always thrilled to hear "bath" or when seeing me holding his towel. On some evenings, he reminds me to wipe him up by jumping up and down while looking at one of his face towels hanging on the wall. He sure knows his own routine.
After the thorough bath, he refused to get blow-dried as usual, but enjoys being wrapped in his towel and staying put on the couch until he feels warm and dry. That's one reason we clip his coat regularly (once a week) to keep it short for quick drying and avoid matting.
Anyway, the evening was mostly quiet until we headed to bed for a restful night. We woke up this morning to a bright sky.
Magandang buhay💛
