Oh la la, it's Fri-Yay!
We welcomed the new month here in BC.
Yesterday was hectic, but it went well. It rained at 5 in the evening, keeping the air cool after a really hot day. Thunder roared too, like the rain won't be going away soon, which makes us hopeful. Weather Bureau has been warning us of a "Super" El Niño, which they say will start in September (last month), and they expect it to persist through the first half of 2027.
If the dry season starts this early, many industries will be affected. Earlier this year, schools and offices made necessary adjustments to their schedules (e.g., morning and evening classes, 4-day workweek) to cope with the summer heat. And for the first time in years, we also had to fetch (buy) water in tanks to supply the house here in BC. So if the dry spell is extreme in the coming months, it would be tough. But we hope it won't turn out the way PAGASA expected. However, we will still do necessary preparations.
Some places, especially in the lowlands and agricultural provinces, are already experiencing significant rainfall deficits.
Meanwhile, it is a bit windy this morning, so we (Yongi and I) didn't leave the bed until a little while ago. It seems the ber air has already arrived, but it's okay, because we believe the wind helps bring rain showers here.
With the cold breeze, the garden work (weeding) and the bush trimming are getting postponed. Aah, Mr. P (procrastination) whispered, and I'm saying yes without hesitation. "Just this once," the voice in my head approves😁
Joking aside, we are spending most of the day at the old man's mart. Some shelves still need restocking, an activity I recently discovered quite therapeutic. It is simple enough to be automatic, but just enough structure for gentle focus. I now consider it a form of a mental break, where the mind just settles, anchored in the present moment, while the hands work.
