A Child [in Another Form]

"Oh my, you played with tissue again?" I exclaimed on seeing the shredded whites on the sofa, and a few more on the floor. The LilGuy groaned and looked at me as if saying, "That wasn't me, Mom!" when clearly he did it himself. There's even a piece under his right front paw.🤣

That was just one of his little mischiefs, which should make me nag and argue with him further, but I ended up laughing. Who can get mad at such a face?😅

Sometimes when he does play with tissue paper, he hides under the computer table in the bedroom. And when I call him, he would come out sheepishly, tails tucked and slowly wagging, like he was trying to appease me before I say something else. With such a "guilty" look, I usually pick him up and give him a million kisses instead.

Clever boy, eh?

Whenever the dada comes home from somewhere, he is always excited to do his little investigation (hanging onto his jeans and sniffing the legs). And he starts barking or doing his little screams the moment he smells another scent.

Apart from those and napping, one of his favorite things to do when inside our abode is to sit quietly by the screen door (installed intentionally for him) and observe movements outside. Even when the curtain is drawn closed, he knows how to go around it, partially opening just enough for him to take a peek.

When he sees something, he suddenly goes ballistic, jumping, growling, coming to me with his little cries, as if he is reporting that someone is outside, and then he quickly runs back to the door to check if it was still there. If it disappeared, he would groan (not sure if it's the right term) and whimper, like saying, "You are too slow, it's already gone."

Then he sighs, slumps on the floor, and occasionally gives me a side-eye.😁 It often makes me wonder: if he were a human boy, would he be doing the same thing?

I was just reminded of something I read somewhere that said when a pet has a strong bond with you, he was meant to be your child, but he came in another form.

Hmmm... maybe... maybe...
