After dusk, I heard a scream

I was awake; it was no dream

Against my window, I saw, I heard

Whispers, shadows, darkness and gloom

Scary and darker, quiet and ghost-like

A world blessed and gifted by nature

But alas, by self condemnation,

Rotting in immorality and corruption

In political and economic waste

I saw Africa
