This type of rooster is characterized by its small stature and the beautiful shape of its comb, so it has become an idol for breeders who like to keep this chicken as a collection of ornamental chickens. According to a Wikipedia article describing the origin of this species of chicken:

The Japanese Bantam or Chabo is a Japanese breed of ornamental chicken. It is a true bantam breed, meaning that it has no large fowl counterpart. It characterised by very short legs (the result of hereditary chondrodystrophy) and a large upright tail that reaches much higher than the head of the bird.

While the local term for this type of chicken is "kate," and the picture above shows the result of crosses with a type of native chicken so that the stature is relatively huge in comparison to the original race (Japanese bantam).
