You are not going to get anything done just staying in the ship. The weather conditions look good enough to head on out and start manually scanning the surrounding area to see if anything is interesting to go check.
You put on your spacesuit and pack the helm just in case. You head out of the ship and decided just to head north for a little while to see if there is anything worthwhile in finding. It feels so strange being on an ice planet with no signs of life anywhere to be seen. It’s almost as if the footprints you were leaving behind as you were working instantly became covered up.
It was hard work walking in fresh snow. On rare occasions, you would step into a deeper drift and sink to around your knee. You would then have to pull yourself out carefully and hope the other foot did not sink that deep as well.
While looking off into the distance you realize there was a dark shape that appeared in the sky. It was moving quite fast as well. It almost looked like a shooting star except it was almost coming your way. It could not have been bigger than a washing machine in size.
You started to get a little alarmed that it kept getting bigger and bigger in size. It was clear it was moving in on your location almost. Once it was over your head you turned back to realize it was heading right for your ship and there was nothing you could do.
The asteroid struck your ship and with a fiery explosion that was the end of that. No more having the ship for shelter. You would almost give anything for that one box to reappear. You even went back to around where you thought it was in the first place.
After searching for quite some time you were walking and ran right into it. You smacked your face quite hard on one of the invisible walls of the boxed room you were looking for. It out of nowhere reappeared.
Do you decide to go back inside the box and try exploring it again to see if there was anything you missed? You could also go check out a trail you noticed to the west to see where it might lead. Finally, you could also decide to head south into massive tundra and see what other area it could lead into.
