As you opened the door in the only room in this hallway you realized this was not an ordinary room. It was like nothing you had seen in your life before. Right in the middle of the room was this giant device with a bunch of strange metal rings around it. The room was mostly empty aside from what looked like a single computer station off to the far right.
You decided to take a closer look at the rings around the device in the middle of the room. Many of them were covered in some sort of strange symbol. One thing was for certain those symbols were nothing like the ones you had seen so far on this space station. Like they were not created by the same species of creature.
You even reached out your hand to touch one of the metal rings. While it was quite fixed in place the metal itself was cold. You quickly removed your hand as it felt like you were about to get frozen bit on your fingers. That was not normal.
You went over to the computer station and your surprise it was already on. It seemed to show a diagram of what you were already looking at in the middle of the room. You could have sworn it was a live feed of the device itself. It however had some kind of strange filter on it making it appear drawn.
You were hoping there would be some sort of information you could access about what this device even was on the computer itself. There was nothing else in the room. As soon you pressed a single key on the keyboard however you heard quite a loud noise.
You realized the rings around the device started to move. It was not before long they were spinning at such great speeds you were almost blinded by the reflection of lighting hitting the metal rings and reflecting it through the room itself.
You also noticed there was this sound of what could have been giant coils of the device itself making electronic sounds. After a while, you realized it was repeating over and over again the same pattern in the noise .--. --- .-. - .- .-..
The temperature in the room had skyrocketed from this device being active. Sweat was starting to pour down your face. You were half tempted to walk out of the room to catch your breath you however were quite mesmerized by the device itself.
The rings just kept going faster and faster around the device. That was until it looked like they had almost frozen in place with how fast they were moving. That is when you realized a ball of light had traveled from the center of the device to a portion where the floor was marked off.
You decided to risk it by going in for a closer look. It felt like a ball of energy while it looked dangerous you had a feeling it was noticed. It was never your intention to touch it but it reached out to you as if with intent. It felt like you were struck by lightning.
