Today is my son's Career Day at school and he is a Police Officer for a day.
He loves his policeman role and he even said he is excited to get into a training. I laughed at the thought of what he said and musingly thought what if it comes true...
I don't really have anything still on mind on what I wanted him to be when he grows up and he doesn't have either. But it wouldn't really matter much to me as long as he would be happy on what he would be doing.
I remembered back when I was a little kid I really wanted to be a doctor and on a clean bondpaper I drew a doctor tending to her patients and pasted my picture on it then kept it. But when I got to college things changed and I enrolled an engineering course.
That is one reason why I do not bother to think of career paths for my child yet and it wouldn't bother me if he doesn't have anything in mind too. All I can do is give him the support he needs when that time comes.
For now, all I can give him is a guiding hand so he can be a loving child to our family first then to make him a respectful and responsible citizen of his community. From there everything else follows...
