Hello there my lovely hivers!!! For today's blog I am excited to share with you our Girl scout experience which we stay at our school for three days, and It was so fun.
Before our camp started, our teachers gave us an orientation to explain what we needed to do to get ready.
We were getting ready because it was the opening of our Girl Scout event, and I notice how excited the elementary students looked in their girl scout uniforms.
I see myself in them back when I am elementary. I always got excited when girl scout event was coming.
Were here, at the gym because the opening is about to start, we're all preparing at this moment. It takes a while, to start the program, because some of the teachers weren't around at that time.
After the program, our troop leader gave us a card and a parent consent form for our parents to sign, giving their permission for us to sleep at the school during the Girl Scout camp.
I was nervous to give the parent consent form to my parents because I was worried that they might not allow me to sleep at the school. Still, I decided to give it to them, and I was so happy when they said yes.
Back then, I really wanted to experience sleeping at the school because the feeling is different when you stay overnight for Girl Scout. Waking up early, taking a shower, and cooking breakfast with friends, it makes the girl scout experience complete.
Last year, my parents picked me up from the school because they wanted me to go home late at night. I was a bit sad, but thanks to my friend@melcakes, who convinced my dad to let me stay at the school. My mom prepared everything I needed for the 3 days camping. I am so happy for the first time, my father finally allowed me to sleep at school.
Afterwards, we were called for the flag ceremony because it was time to start the parade.
We walked from our school to the complex and then back again.
Everyone was in line, wearing Girl scouts uniforms, we marched together and sang the girl scout song.
When we got back to school, the troop leaders have a group picture. They were taking photos while we prepared for our yell.
We were getting our tents ready, and you might be wondering why we already had tents. That’s because the Boy Scouts had camped before us and set up the tents. They teased us, saying we weren’t true Girl Scouts because we didn’t set up the tents ourselves.
But their tents are not that strong , so we worked hard to make our area nice. We make places for our plates and food, and fixed the broken chairs and table.
We put all our food on the table to organize it. @douceink also started writing the name of our patrol. Since our patrol is named "Kapayas," which means "papaya" and it is green,
@douceink used green cartolina to make it match.
We organized the foods, into their labels like canned goods, noodles, and coffee. It made it easier to cook because it is organized.
After we organized the foods, we decided to eat, because it's already 2: pm and we didn't eat our lunch.
At 3:00 PM, all the Girl Scouts were called because the activities were starting. The first one was knot tying, and we didn’t have much time to practice. Each patrol needed to pick two people to represent them.
When the troop leader called out a knot, the two chosen representatives had to step up and tie it. The first patrol to do it will won. We didn’t win this knit tying activities, but there were more activities coming up, we better luck next time.
After the knot tying activity, we took a picture of the three of us. So cutie 🥰🥰
Afterwards, we moved on to another activities, the potato game and the egg game. For each game, each patrol had to choose two representatives to participate.
In the potato game, I was one of the representatives, but I didn’t know what to do, so we didn’t cook the potato. The same happened in the egg game, our 2 representatives didn't balance the egg well.
Even though we didn’t do win, I still enjoyed the games. It was fun to try something new.
Since there was no water available for cooking the rice, we decided to buy some mineral water instead. I carried the mineral water to our tent, and I felt so strong. HAHHAHA
While@douceink was cleaning the pots so we could cook our meal.
After that, we started preparing our food. We worked together to make everything easier.
We started cooking so we could eat, as it was already 4:00 pm and our co scouters we're all hungry. We had a event called Ms. Gsp each patrol had to chose 1 representative. And we are all excited.
The gym was filled with excitement as everyone gathered to watch the Ms. GSP event. We cheered loudly for our own representative, and it was a fun and wonderful night. We all enjoyed the event and had a great time together.
The moon was really bright, so we decided to take some pictures. It was a beautiful night, and we enjoyed it a lot.You can see at our faces how happy we are.
After the ms. Gsp event, we went to our room because it was very late and we needed to sleep. We shared a bed that Teff brought, and it fit all three of us. We we're like sardines in the bed. HAHHAHAHHAHA
That's it for today's blog hivers!! Thankyou for reading my Day 1 Girlscout exprience. I hope you enjoy reading my blog.
