I don't know if this happens to your country or the place where you live but here this is a common practice.
The vehicle that is sieged by the police for different reasons or has any accident ends up in front of the police station and later in the dumping zone. Usually, I have noticed that all the police stations have a bunch of cars and other vehicles in front of the place. It always made me wonder why so? Why do they practice this?
It looks very unorganized. There must be some administrative cause behind this or maybe some random reason, I don't know.
A few days ago I took a shortcut to take the bus to go to my workplace and found this. Also, maybe the police were punishing the van/rickshaw rider for some offense like going on the wrong side, I don't know. Because they put the vehicle upside down and told him to stay there for an hour. No case, no fine, just this punishment. This is also a very common practice here.
About the first issue, the police usually don't call for auction of all the vehicles for some reason or call the action for the new model cars only.
I wish they could sell all of them in the auction. So people like me who would buy them, maybe.
