It is Saturday again, meaning earlier during lunch, my son and I went to visit the aunt.
Upon reaching we smelled a nice fragrant aroma and we guessed it must be her homemade pork chop. Or chicken chop. Or fish chop.!!
Thrilled
Last week, we told her, Jansen really loved her chop chop. She did it her way, simple and traditional, no bread crumbs, just flour and egg dip. When she heard Jansen (my tube-fed son who is learning to eat) loved it, she did say she would make it soon. And the soon was so SOON! LIKE...one week later...
She cooked a mountain of them!
While placing this plate on the table she said "This is not for just two of you, later please bring back some for Jansen".
You gotto love her... Really...
And in this plate, there were 3 types of chop: pork chop, chicken chop and fish chop!
Oh my gosh!
My eldest son was like overjoyed but shocked at the same time because really, it was a big plate of variety of chopsss..if only I could snap his face. It was something like this.. ⤵️
Then we opened another side, there was a bowl of glass noodle with lots of fishballs (20 of them) with lettuce which was underneath the noodles so they could not be seen in the photo. My favourite dish! Our favourite to be precise.
Then simple stir fry turnip with garlic oil and soy sauce.
Our Sumptuous Lunch
We sat down and ate like queen and king, literally. We really did feel pampered.
We are from rice culture so every meal serve with rice, my aunt loves to cook mixture of brown rice with basmathi rice, she boiled them with cinnamon stick and her rice always is fragrant, you can even eat it on its own. No kidding!
After lunch, we chitchatted and she told me her blood pressure dropped recently like around 99 to 100. I prayed with medication she will stay healthy. Then she showed me a plant behind her apartment, believed to be able to cure low blood pressure. Just pluck the leaves, and soaked in hot boiled water, and drink the tea while warm.
Hope to hear good news from her soon about her blood pressure - becoming normal again.
