I celebrated my birthday yesterday. My mother always said it was a special day for her, because it is a public holiday, Labour Day but she was labouring at hospital. And I had big head so needed some help to be sucked out.
This year, I celebrated my marriage anniversary at home, then my birthday at home, but it is nothing short of joy and gratefulness. It was kind of special because family and friends took turn to deliver food to me. Food and celebration always go hand in hand, aren't they? It is like a great combo.
Both of my sisters-in-law (one is husband's brother's wife, another one my brother's wife) sent food to me one day before my birthday; homecooked meals and burnt chocolate cheese cake respectively. I was so touched because I had been silently muttering to myself on my wish to eat
other people's food. So, obviously my wish came true. Continue reading, you will know I am not kidding. All the below were delivered to me on 30th April, one day before the actual birthday.
My brother called and said he was going to deliver special food.
Yummy bananacake that was gone in less than a day, and three-dish meals for us family; fried pork with special seasoning, steamed egg with mushrooms, stir fry cabbage. I am so blessed!
This was by my mother-in-law, also her first attempt but so, so, yummy delicious.
Typing this and looking at the photo makes me hungry. Haha! Char Kuey Teow always being fried in wok with sufficient fire, ingredients are egg, chinese sausage, shrimps, beansprouts and chives and seasonings. This is a popular dish at Penang, if you ever come to Malaysia馃嚥馃嚲.
