Yes, while I love writing, I hate texting and messaging. I am a believer that once it even comes out of our mouths it is already changed. The written word is a powerful thing...and I agree on the sarcasm part. I have a sarcastic streak that is subtle in person that can come across stron online and I work on this constantly.
