So, there I was, standing in Walmart, looking at the supplement rack.
Within view are two products I already take.
I do t end up buying the one I was there for though.
It wasn't there!
Iodine from kelp.
That's the one I wanted, but, as luck would have it, I instead found a cheap source of magnesium bisglycinate, which, due to its popularity, I knew would eventually show up at Walmart , allowing me, the poor, recently returned from the street biohacker,to afford it.
Next stop: Canadian Tire, which, for those of you who are not up on your Canadiana, is a huge chain of stores that are similar to, but not exactly like Walmart where you can buy everything from wrenches to rods and reels.
I was there for this:
Pictured: incandescent red light by Noma. The radiant heater kind. 12 bucks CAD.
And then, I went to Starbucks to write an article, which, turns out to be the one you are reading.
Totally random right?
Kind of like the guy behind me that just spilled a huge vente on the floor in front of 15 people waiting in line for their coffee:)
Really, that just happened.
So, I have been holding off on the bulb, because, well, I didn't really need it yet.
But, it just starTed to get cloudy more than sunny here in north-central Ontario, above the 49th parallel, and I'm beginning to drag myself out of bed instead of jumping.
Less red light and uva/uvb from mr sun.
Fall is here and that means, yes, winter is in the offing.
Most are dreading it, but I'm looking forward to the cold.
That way, I can use the red heat light and not have to sweat my sack off, right before I head to a sunbed.
That's part of the "light hacks" I have planned for this winter.
The other part, well, I'm feeling super bloated and "pumped" as well as getting comments from people about how big my arms are getting.
Water retention is an amazing thing.
So, what happens if you purposely retain a huge amount of water in your ecf (extra cellular fluid) compartment and, blast yourself with red light every day followed by a blast of uv light directly afterwards?
I'm not telling you what I think will happen, because it's a long term experiment.
It may not even be healthy per se.
But then, nobody ever discovered anything worthwhile by being cautious, and, that's what I love about being a biohacker/health scientist.
I'm a natural experimentor and being different is the name of the game.
Including having higher than average testosterone and bigger, leaner arms when most people are getting fat.
Yep, wintertime is coming and I don't plan on wasting my new job at the gym stayIng stagnant and being bored:)
I hope you also find new and interesting things to do each and every day.
It's the spice of life.
Kinda like that turmeric I saw back there at Walmart.
Maybe I'll do an article on its health benefits.
Only time will tell the story.
