Greetings to all Splinterlands players and hive gaming community! I have a level one Jolius Blast in my Fire team. He is one of the Arena Vanguard cards made by content creators. My card was gifted to me by @iblast, the creator of Jolius Blast.
Level 1 Jolius Blast's best stats is high HP. His attack and speed are both clocked at three. His Void skill is a great counter against magic attacks. I have been using him in my games with mixed success. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose. That's because he has not reached his full potential yet at level one. Level two gives him Enrage skill and at level four he will have Retaliate skill. That makes him pretty strong when at maximum level. Right now at level one, I take advantage of his high HP at specific battle modifiers.
Game 1 - Collateral Damage
The game modifier gives all units Reckless. All units damage their neighbor once they attack the opponent. But, it also has No Pain, No Gain. It gives all units Painforge skill. Everytime the units get damaged by their neighbor, their power will increase. This is a perfect situation for Jolius. Because of his high HP, he can take the damage inflicted by his teammate while his power constantly increases. His high HP helps him survive the modifier while empowering himself. Worse, the opponent had Spellmonger who has Thorns skill. The effect of Thorns will further empower Jolius.
He went solo after his teammates died but his power was already at four. He won the game singlehandedly.
Game 2 - Noxius Fumes
The game has a Poison modifier. All units start the game poisoned so the one who has a high HP has the advantage. In this game, Jolius has the highest HP among the units. Next is Frankarsgard who is also in my team. My opponent had Life element but their HP is not that high compared to my lineup.
At this stage, my opponent was already dying from Poison while my team's HP still has enough to survive and win the game.
Conclusion
Level one Jolius hasn't reached his full potential yet but there are games where he is already the star card. His high HP is a big boost in modifiers that prioritise survival over attacks. As Jolius goes up in level, he can fullfill his potential and dominate the battlefield.
