I'm wondering, wandering, moving my mind, moving my feet, wondering where I'm going.
Right now I have no idea. I feel rather empty headed, stupid, foolish, dull. Though I suppose it's better than thinking I'm in perfect shape when I'm not.
Why? I have no idea. I truly don't think any of us do. It's just the way this crazy world works, we make our way, do the best we can or less than that, and end up with an outcome we never saw coming.
More than that. We end up with outcomes we ourselves don't understand, outcomes beyond our wildest imaginings.
But what are our wildest imaginings? Are they the things we imagine possible, or what dreamers see, all those amazing impossibilities. That should really have a question mark. And yeah, I do feel a little bad for ruining that intense, serious tone.
But at the same time, not altogether too bad. For something entirely serious is an amazing thing, but in the end, it's truly lacking. There's just something... more which you could have, something more which you don't have. I don't know why, I doubt anyone does.
And at the same time, something entirely silly, disrespectful, inconsiderate? That's probably even worse. Though it could be useful to use that to brighten up a formerly dreary, lifeless day.
But what I consider to have the most possibility, that which seems to hit precisely the right note, is a mix of the two. For the more serious message, a serious overtone with just a touch of irreverence. For something more humorous, an entirely ridiculous message with the occasional serious interruption to make the humor all the better. And for most messages, which don't fall into either category but rather a mix of the two, use exactly that: a mix of the two.
I mean, the two does mix rather well. Or at least, I think it does. I'll figure it out when I find out what exactly it is.
And there goes any hope I had that you're still reading. Sighs to self. Well, I had a feeling it was coming here. It's not often that I sit down to write, that I let myself, my mind, my soul, my very being wander - and don't end up with some ridiculous, nonsensical comment.
Welcome to my life. Or at least my brain. It's a rather lonely place, there's not much there. For everything I learn, I realize there's something else I don't know, for every piece of knowledge I gain I realize just how much more there is to explore. Did not Alexander Pope so eloquently say “A little learning is a dangerous thing.
Drink deep, or taste not the Pierian Spring ?
And therein lies the problem in our world. Too many people come to this very conclusion and decide that it is more worth their while to taste not the Pierran Spring. And a sad thing that is, at that. For that Spring - That Fountain of Life, knowledge, is such an incredible thing, far beyond our wildest imaginings.
More than that, it is our wildest imaginings. We all think that there are more worthwhile things, and in truth there are, but to refuse to learn is to refuse to grow.
And there is nothing more essential to the human being than growth, so long as it is healthy growth, not the sort to restrict one's overall value.
And on that happy note, I think I'm out of time. Cheers.
