Surprising behaviors [ENG-ESP]

Greetings friends of Hive Pets,

Definitely, if human behavior surprises us, dog behavior is not far behind. I want to start this post talking about a cartoon that I saw recently and that has a lot to do with the behavior of my dog Muñeca.

A man goes out to the park with his dog to walk him, but at the same time for him to relieve himself, both walk the whole park and then go home. Upon arrival, the dog does his business, the master looks at him with a surprised face, while the dog thinks "thank goodness we got home because I was about to do myself in the park".

It is a very paradoxical story that in an incredible way connects with reality, this is what happens to me with my pet Muñeca. This little dog came into my life when she was about 6 months old due to the maturity of her little body and the state of her teeth. She got used to go out to the garage to do her needs after eating. Muñeca is not used to pee or defecate in the yard even though she has space to do so. The yard is spacious, she won't be crowded at all, but she doesn't know why she prefers to do it in the other area of the house. We have a porch, a small garden area, the garage and there are areas with dirt, paved, in short, a little bit of everything.

She doesn't have a fixed place, so I have to pick up "her graces" all over the place. What strikes me is something else and it has a lot to do with the story of the dog in the park. Muñe doesn't just relieve herself after eating, if she wants to go out again she lets me know, no matter what time, she knocks on the door and when I open it she takes me where she wants to go, then she goes to the garden and does her business. Usually when I go to water the plants I take her with me, she stays with me for an hour or so while I clean the garden and water the plants, enough time for her to pee. However, it happens that I happen to go up to the roof to take pictures of the sunset, she comes with me, I already wrote a post about it. She gets excited, jumps up and down, she loves it and while I take the pictures, she explores the place (there is a lot of junk) and when I notice she has peed. She usually just pees and a couple of times has defecated.

After spending an hour or more in the garden why she didn't pee there, I don't understand. I had already written that she peed in my bed, she has also done it next to the couch where I sit to watch TV in the living room, we have two, the other one is near the kitchen. While I am in the living room she gets up and wanders around the house, suddenly she stops and lies down near my feet, wherever I am, because she follows me everywhere.

I don't know if it's about marking territory, I say this because of the couch, I thought only males do it. He has peed near the couch several times, but not in my presence. He does it when I am not occupying that spot, then I realize he was there, I see "his grace" which I then have to clean up. As for peeing on the roof I don't know why she does it, the people I have told tell me that she likes ceramics to pee, she likes clean, I don't know, but she has had enough time to pee in the garden. She does it on the ground, on pavement, but I don't understand this behavior. I can't stop her from peeing on the roof, but I can stop her from going into the living room and leaving my space all wet. I have to keep an eye on her when she comes in the house.

Definitivamente, si el comportamiento humano nos sorprende, el de los perros no se queda atrás. Quiero empezar este post hablando sobre una caricatura que vi hace poco y que tiene que ver mucho con el comportamiento de mi perrita Muñeca.

Un hombre sale al parque con su perro a pasearlo, pero a la vez para que haga sus necesidades, ambos caminan todo el parque y luego se retiran a casa. Al llegar, el perro hace sus necesidades, el amo lo ve con cara de sorprendido, mientras que el perro piensa “menos mal que llegamos a casa porque estuve a punto de hacerme en el parque”.

Es un cuento muy paradójico que de manera increíble se conecta con la realidad, así me pasa con mi mascota Muñeca. Esta perrita llegó a mi vida cuando por la madurez de su cuerpecito y y el estado de su dentadura tendría unos 6 meses de edad. Ella se acostumbró solita que después de comer sale al garaje a hacer sus necesidades. Muñeca no acostumbra a hacer pis o defecar en el patio a pesar de que tiene espacio para ello. El patio es amplio, no va a estar en lo absoluto hacinada, pero ella no sé porque prefiere hacerlo en la otra zona de la casa. Tenemos un porche, un área de jardín pequeña, el garaje y hay zonas con tierra, pavimentadas, en fin, de todo un poco.

Ella no tiene un lugar fijo, por lo que debo recoger “sus gracias” por todas partes. Lo que me llama la atención es otra cosa y mucho tiene que ver con el cuento del perro en el parque. Muñe no solo hace sus necesidades después de comer, si quiere salir otra vez ella avisa, no importa la hora, toca la puerta y cuando le abro ella me lleva hacia donde quiere ir, luego, va al jardín y hace sus necesidades. Por lo general cuando voy a regar las plantas yo me la llevo para que me acompañe, ella se queda conmigo 1 hora más o menos mientras yo limpio el jardín y riego las plantas, tiempo suficiente para que haga pis. No obstante, pasa que se me ocurre subir a la azotea a tomar fotos del atardecer, ella se viene conmigo, ya escribí una publicación sobre ello. Ella se emociona, pega saltos, le encanta y mientras yo tomo las fotos, ella explora el lugar (hay muchos trastos) y cuando me doy cuenta ha orinado. Por lo general solo orina y un par de veces ha defecado.

Después de pasar una hora o más en el jardín ¿porque no orinó allí?, no entiendo. Ya había escrito que ella se hacía pis en mi cama, también lo ha hecho al lado del sillón donde me siento a ver TV en la sala, tenemos dos, el otro está cerca de la cocina. Mientras yo estoy en la sala ella se levanta y deambula por la casa, de pronto se detiene y se acuesta cerca de mis pies, donde yo esté, porque ella me sigue a todas partes .

No sé si se trata de marcar territorio, lo digo por lo del sillón, pensé que solo los machos lo hacen. Orinarse cerca del sillón lo ha hecho varias veces, pero no en mi presencia. Lo hace cuando no estoy ocupando ese lugar, luego me doy cuenta que estuvo allí, veo “su gracia” que luego tengo que limpiar. En cuanto a orinar en la azotea no sé porque lo hace, a las personas que les he contado me dicen que será que le gusta la cerámica para hacer pis, le gusta lo limpio, no lo sé, pero es que ya tuvo tiempo suficiente de orinar en el jardín. Ella hace en tierra, en pavimento, pero no comprendo ese comportamiento. No puedo evitar que haga pis en la azotea, pero sí que vaya a la sala y me deje el espacio todo mojado. La tengo que estar vigilando cuando entra a la casa.
