Greetings dear friends of Hive Pet, long time no post here. I tell you that my dog Muñeca is fine, doing her usual mischief and making my life happy with her witticisms, however, this time I come to tell you about an unexpected guest, and of course, about Muñeca's attitude, here is my account.

Day 1

Last Thursday, June 8th, in the morning when I woke up, I found some liquid feces scattered in several parts of the house, the truth is that I got worried thinking that Muñeca had gotten sick. At that moment I started to remember what my dog ate that could have caused an intestinal disorder, then I thought it could not be her, she was with me on the couch while I was watching TV, besides the feces were recent.

I assumed that some animal entered the house, but it was gone, so as usual I went about my routine, before going to work I put food for Muñeca and when I went to take her out to the garden I realized that she was smelling something and there I noticed an adult cat lying in a corner under the stairs, it was the new guest and he was sick, he really needed help. I was very sad to take him out in that state, so after taking Muñe to the garden, I gave him a gastric protector, then I waited half an hour to give him serum with an injector and finally an antibiotic that I had to dilute, it is for this type of infections.

I went to work, and when I came back I saw him more animated, he even started to drink water and saline by himself, he drank everything I put in the tray, that made me happy. It was still not possible to see improvements because he has only been on the antibiotic treatment for one day.

Day 2

On the second day there was no good news, the kitten slept a lot and did not want anything, no serum, no water. I saw that his gums were white, apart from his stomach problem, which meant anemia. I continued to help him and waited for him to get better. It has not been easy because I have had to be cleaning and patiently giving him liquid with the injector, for now he can't eat anything solid. I didn't go to work, I was ready to leave when he vomited, fortunately I was watching him and it was only once. There was a moment when I didn't see the cat anywhere, a couple of hours passed and then I saw him meowing and walking around, I thought he was gone, but no, I found his secret hiding place, sleeping under one of the dining room chairs, he likes the padding, apparently.

Since the kitten is inside the house Doll has been kept in the yard and I have had to pull her out with the chain to keep her from finding him, I know the smell will give him away. Doll hates being put on the chain, when she sees it or hears the noise when I am pulling her she hides. I can't do any more, I want to avoid inconvenience.

I was hoping the cat would recover, my father no longer wanted him at home, but I don't have the heart to leave him sick on the street. It's seven days of treatment, and that's why I was dedicated to monitor the number of bowel movements per day, these will decrease according to the number of days I've been consuming the antibiotic, I already went through that once with Muñe. These past two days have been very busy, between work, taking care of the house, Doll and a sick cat. Fortunately, the cat is not aggressive, she lets herself be touched and let me open her trunk to give her serum and medicine.

Already at night, I got worried, the kitten slept a lot because of anemia, the evacuations did not decrease and I found the bad news that he had vomited, which meant that the antibiotic was expelled. It occurred to me to ask for help in one of the foundations and I managed to talk to a girl who made the contact so that a veterinarian could see him and find him a temporary home.

Day 3

The kitten woke up in the morning, I followed the instructions to give him the gastric protector first and I was happy to see that after a while he had taken the serum by himself. I talked to the girl early, she had agreed to let me know so I could take him to the vet. Then something very curious happened, when it was time to give him antibiotics, the cat disappeared. I looked for him everywhere, and nothing, it was time for the medicine and I was anxious, where did he go? After so much searching I found him in a place where I had looked before and he was not, under a chair, he looked asleep, but I looked at his belly in detail and he was not breathing, the little guy was gone. My friend told me, "at least he had affection in his last days", "he looked for you for a reason, to die in peace in a house, and not in the street, under the indolence of people". I could only say to her inert body "rest little one, you stopped suffering, I wish I could have done more for you".

Doll's attitude

Her behavior showed that she knew there was someone else in the house. First because he would take her out with the chain, or else he would carry her, something she doesn't like. She longed to come into the house and sit on the couch next to me, but it didn't happen because the cat was inside the house. She would peek out and look at me sadly. When I opened the door she refrained from rushing in as usual, she waited as if I had to give her permission to go in. She was self-conscious, she didn't make much fuss at mealtime, it reminded me of when I had to take care of a friend's puppy and Doll was uncomfortable.

The kitty is gone now, but she doesn't know it, I think, so she is still a bit repressed, but she is slowly getting back to being happy as usual and feeling free at home again.
