Saludos amigos de CineTV, en esta oportunidad me uno a este concurso llamado “Tu película de miedo favorita”, una dinámica que me cae como anillo al dedo porque soy aficionada a este género.
The review that I will do next is for one of the scariest movies of all time, “The Omen”. This film tells the story of the birth of the antichrist, there are three films in total, the first is when he is born, in the second he is in the stage of adolescence and in the third he is an adult with a clear objective, to confront the Nazarene. For this contest I will talk about the first film, a classic that premiered in 1976, although they later filmed a more recent version in 2006.
La reseña que haré a continuación, es para una de las películas más espeluznantes de todos los tiempos, “La profecía”. Este film narra la historia del nacimiento del anticristo, son tres películas en total, la primera es cuando nace, en la segunda está en la etapa de la adolescencia y en la tercera es adulto con un claro objetivo, enfrentarse al nazareno. Para este concurso hablaré de la primera película, un clásico que se estrenó en 1976, aunque luego filmaron una versión más reciente en el año 2006.
The plot focuses on husbands Robert Thorn (Gregory Peck) and Katherine (Lee Remick), on the day of the birth of their firstborn in the city of Rome, he dies and father Spileto (Martin Benson) convinces Robert to replace him behind his back. of his wife for a child whose mother died in childbirth.

Robert agrees and they name the little boy, Damien (Harvey Stephens). From then on, strange events begin to haunt this family. On the day of Damián's birthday party, the nanny commits suicide in the presence of all the guests, and days before she had been inexplicably visited by a black dog.

After a while, Katherine gets pregnant and Damián doesn't want the child to be born. On the other hand, when Damien is so young, he needs a nanny, so Mrs. Baylock (Billie Whitelaw) was hired, always accompanied by the same black dog that stalked the first nanny who died. That suggests that she was an accomplice of the antichrist and was sent to protect him.
Luego de un tiempo, Katherine sale embarazada y Damián no quiere que el niño nazca. Por otra parte, estando Damián tan pequeño, necesita una niñera por lo que fue contratada la Sra. Baylock (Billie Whitelaw) a quien siempre la acompaña el mismo perro negro que acechaba a la primera niñera que murió. Eso da a suponer que cómplice del anticristo y fue enviada para protegerlo.
Damián behaves strangely, so much so that it scares his mother. Then, he causes an accident and the woman loses the child.
Damián se comporta de manera extraña, tanto que asusta a su madre. Luego, éste le provoca un accidente y la mujer pierde al niño.
This film had two key characters, Father Brennan (Patrick Troughton) and Keith Jennings (David Warner). Father Brennan knew who Damien was and so he warned Robert to watch out for him. As a result, the priest dies like all those who want to expose the child. Keith Jennings was the photographer of the party, in the photos some very curious marks appeared that revealed the way in which people who discovered that Damián was the antichrist died.
Este film tuvo dos personajes claves, el padre Brennan (Patrick Troughton) y Keith Jennings (David Warner). El padre Brennan sabía quién era Damián y por eso le advirtió a Robert que se cuidara de él. A consecuencia de ello, el sacerdote muere como todos aquellos que quieren poner en evidencia al niño. Keith Jennings era el fotógrafo de la fiesta, en las fotos aparecían unas marcas muy curiosas que revelaban la forma en que morían las personas que descubrían que Damián era el anticristo.
These events aroused Keith's curiosity and together with Robert they decide to investigate. Both discover something terrifying, all signs point to Damien being the antichrist. Following this gruesome discovery, the two men travel to Israel to contact Carl Bugenhagen (Leo McKern), an archaeologist who knows how to kill Damien.
Estos sucesos despertaron la curiosidad de Keith y junto a Robert deciden investigar. Ambos descubren algo aterrador, todas las señales apuntan a que Damián es el anticristo. A partir de ese espantoso descubrimiento, los dos hombres viajan a Israel para ponerse en contacto con Carl Bugenhagen (Leo McKern), un arqueólogo que sabe como matar a Damián.
The movie is really scary, just writing this review remembering the scenes gave me goosebumps. One of the things that greatly influences a movie is the music, I can safely say that the soundtrack is terrifying. Once I was curious to know what the lyrics said and it's really creepy, it's written in Latin.
La película es realmente aterradora, el solo hecho de escribir esta reseña recordando las escenas me dio escalofríos. Una de las cosas que influyen mucho en una película es la música, con seguridad puedo decir que la banda sonora es aterradora. Una vez me dio curiosidad saber que decía la letra y de verdad es espeluznante, está escrita en latín.
One of the scenes that struck me the most was the death of Keith Jennings, who was decapitated with a sheet of glass.
Una de las escenas que más me impactó fue la muerte de Keith Jennings, quien fue decapitado con una lámina de vidrio.
I will never forget the face of the boy who played Damian, the features were perfect for that role. However, he had his very convincing good boy pose in the final scene to prevent Robert from killing him.
Nunca olvidaré la cara del niño que interpretó a Damián, los rasgos eran perfectos para ese papel. No obstante, tuvo su pose de niño bueno muy convincente en la escena final para evitar que Robert lo matara.
If this movie is terrifying, what happened during filming and after finishing it was overwhelming. The actors began to die strangely one by one. Which implies that the evil things transcended beyond the screen. And it is that, these events seemed to be repeated in the sequels and in other cinematographic films where terror is the main protagonist.
Si esta película es aterradora, lo que sucedió durante la filmación y después de terminarla fue abrumador. Los actores comenzaron a morir de manera extraña uno a uno. Lo que da a entender que las cosas malignas trascendieron más allá de la pantalla. Y es que, estos sucesos parecieron repetirse en las secuelas y en otros films cinematográficos donde el terror es el principal protagonista.
