As for myself, I have a preference for setting my feet on landmarks, it is the intersection of the border between Vietnam and your country across the land border of 3 countries: Laos, Cambodia, and China Country. And in my years of exploring my country, I have set foot in many landmarks along with this S-shaped piece of land.
The thing that I am most proud of in my young life when I have conquered the 4 poles of Vietnam is the North Pole Lung Cu, West Pole A Pa Chai, East Pole Mui Doi, South Pole Dat Mui Ca Mau, and a mountain peak known as "Roof of Indochina" is Mount Fansipan, the highest peak of the Indochina peninsula.
In those trips, there is one place that every backpacker like us cannot miss in our journey to discover new lands, that is the land of Ha Giang, with the majestic scenery that we create nature gives and is the place where the North Pole of Vietnam, the North Pole Lung Cu. And today, let's explore this beautiful land with me!
My trip to conquer this land was in 2018, was when I was 25 years old, and with my 3 companions. Our trip lasted for 7 days, and traveled by motorbike from Hanoi city, across the Northwest to Northeast Vietnam. Ha Giang is a province in the northeastern region of Vietnam, famous for its winding roads halfway through the sky, the villages located close to the foot of the 4-season mountain shrouded in clouds, with the majestic Dong Van rocky plateau is a global geopark, with all kinds of 4-season flowers such as triangle flowers, pulses, apricot flowers, plum flowers, mustard flowers...
Up to 80% of the area of this plateau is exposed to limestone, forming soaring, rugged but unique, and angular rocky mountains that have been prepared by the talented hands of the ethnic minorities here. cleverly arranged, without using cement or any other adhesive material to form solid, solid, and unique stone fences. Coming to this place, you will have hundreds of beautiful pictures that you won't want to leave. Because of that, we were not able to reach our destination, Lung Cu North Pole, before dark.
We stopped at a small town to continue moving to Lung Cu the next morning. When we went, the road was being renewed, so it was quite difficult to travel, requiring hard steering. But now the road has been completed, you just need to hold the steering wheel firmly and turn the throttle to get there. Then you park the car and buy tickets at the main gate. Because of the fare for cleaning and looking after this place, the ticket price is also quite cheap, making it easy for you to visit this place.
The road to Lung Cu National Flagpole was built with a total of 839 steps, divided into 3 stages. In between stages, there is a waiting house so that tourists can stop to rest and admire the scenery. On the way to conquer the stairs, or when climbing to the top of the mountain, where the national flagpole is located, you can also admire the masterpieces of nature created on the Dong Van rock plateau or admire the simple and peaceful beauty. The strangeness of the villages from afar, the hills of buckwheat flowers in full bloom, the terraced fields that glow green when the rice is new or golden when the rice is ripe...
Seen from below, the Lung Cu flagpole stands tall on the top of a high mountain, the yellow star flag flutters in the wind, feeling of national pride of a citizen of Vietnam, and more especially when touched. on the sacred flag is truly wonderful.
In addition to Lung Cu Flagpole, you can go to the North Pole landmark of Vietnam to check the landmark, it is the border point between Vietnam and China. With the goal of conquering the 4 extreme points of Vietnam, this is the point we cannot ignore.
When we finished sightseeing, we returned to Dong Van old town, running on the Ma Pi Leng pass road name Happiness Road, one of the four great peaks of Vietnam that the backpackers wish to conquer ( O Quy Ho pass, Pha Din pass, Khau Pha pass, and Ma Pi Leng pass). And fortunately, I had great experiences when I conquered these 4 legendary passes of the Northwest.
Ma Pi Leng Pass is a dangerous zigzag pass about 20km long, crossing the top of Ma Pi Leng mountain with an altitude of 2000m, connecting Meo Vac district and Dong Van district. This pass is famous for its winding roads from one mountain to another, with the green Nho Que river running along the foothills creating a beautifully natural picture that only when coming to Ma Pi Leng only you can admire its grandeur.
Ha Giang is a place where there are many places to explore with countless beautiful scenery, majestic mountains, in a few days you will not be able to go all but need a lot of time to experience. I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to come here twice, discover many places.
And in the future I will still come back here many more times, each time is a different experience, with different interests, admiring different perspectives on this magical land.
