안나프루나 산 밑, 해발 4130미터에는 마지막 베이스 캠프가 하나 있습니다. 산의 이름을 따서 사람들은 이곳을 Annapurna Base Camp라 부릅니다. 이곳에는 산과 모험을 사랑한 사람들의 흔적들이 곳곳에 있습니다. 사람들이 자신의 사진과 함께 글과 서명을 롯지 벽에 하나씩 채우기 때문이죠. 그리고 조금 산 쪽으로 걸어가다 보면 눈을 감은채 산을 오르는 꿈을 계속 꾸는 이들의 안식처들도 있습니다. 춥고 황량하기 그지 없는 곳이지만 그들의 모습을 보고 있노라면 가슴 깊은 곳에서 뜨거운 것이 퍼져 더이상 추위도 바람도 느낄수 없게 됩니다.

And there are some of those resting places where some people keep dreaming of climbing mountains with their eyes closed.
