The. REGGAE
Reggae, born in Jamaica as a poor kind, with texts related to local and religious issues, almost incomprehensible speech, soon reached the international music circuit from the 1960s and was the first non-Anglo-American music to be affirmed all over the world. It is a particular genre, characterized by moderate, counter-clockwise rhythm and rising attacks, with the constant presence of the bass. It was the disc-jockey of the island to create the toasting, that is, the habit of rhyming on the disks (which is at the base of the reggae and then it will lead to rap) and this because poverty often prevented the making of suitable musical bases . The reggae soon became a true religion, tied to an existing religion, Rastafarianism, and Jamaican Bob Marley (1945-81) has been called the "Messiah." No woman, no cry is his most famous song (wp 302).
